ABOUT SMART ABOUT WHAT

Who are you people?

At Sanlam HQ, the brains behind the wheels of financial services get asked some pretty difficult questions. Most of them have to do with the products we offer and the financial needs of South Africans. These questions, we already have the answers to.

Sometimes however, your questions aren’t related to our products or even money in general. In fact, sometimes your questions don’t seem to be related to anything at all.

Like for instance, we’ve all wondered at some point “Is wrestling real?” or  ”do ghosts exist?” and “what about that car guard outside my office? What’s his deal? Is he even on my team?”

Why are you here?

In this mould we thought we’d give you, the intrigued public, a three month window to find out everything you possibly could about things you’ve always wondered.

Smartaboutwhat is designed to help South Africans get smarter about things and… erm, other stuff. Know what we mean?

Obviously, we’d love to educate you all about the intricacies of life insurance and retirement annuities – it’s what we at Sanlam know best. Go ahead and ask about that if you like, but let’s be honest – that would hardly make for entertaining reading for everyone else, so at Smartaboutwhat we’ve made sure we can all have some fun along the way by asking a few of our own questions too.

Dealing with the big and small questions, Smartaboutwhat investigates the things that most likely matter to you – right now, while you’re surfing the web and killing time at the office or at home… delaying that work you know you should be busy with.

K… but what do I do?

You ask questions. Lots of them. If you’ve got a question you haven’t been able to answer to your heart’s content, why not pose it to us here? We’ll see what we can do. Just don’t ask us something we can Google, rather ask us something we can go out and experience on your behalf – then we’ll share the answers on the website.

And Your Man?

Think of our intrepid blogger as a torch of truth, navigating your way through the foggy mist of arbitrary mystery. He’ll rest easy knowing that he is covered by Sanlam’s comprehensive life insurance and disability cover. This knowledge gives him the freedom to use himself as the human guinea pig you sometimes wish you had, enthusiastically throwing himself (sometimes literally) into each investigation.

What now?

Why are you still reading the “about us” page? Nobody actually reads these things. Seriously, go read some blog posts and get to the real value of what the site has to offer – answers to questions about stuff.
